Christopher Basile was born and raised in Los Angeles.
Before graduating from Harvard-Westlake High School he had already won a playwriting award from Bennington College and had multiple art shows displaying his paintings.
He received his BA from Kenyon College, majoring in Dance & Drama and English, with a concentration in IPHS. Afterward, he received additional training at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and SITI Company.
Since graduation he has been working non-stop as an actor and director. He worked for three years at the Ojai Playwright's Conference working with such award-winning writers as Terrence McNally, Samuel D. Hunter, Danai Gurira, Stephen Belber, Ben Rosenthal, Charlene Woodard, and Bill Cain. He is also a company member of Pacific Resident Theatre and Monkey Wrench Collective in addition to serving as Artistic Director of Green Card Theatre, a company that specializes in plays written outside the United States or dealing with international themes.
He has worked on plays, musicals, cabaret shows, films, internet pieces, and television shows.
His styles have ranged from extreme naturalism to expressionistic to dance theater to experimental collage.
He currently splits his time between Los Angeles and Manhattan.
