As an Acting Coach, Christopher Basile specializes in audition and role preparation. He doesn't do large classes and everything is generally one-on-one (except for the occasional scene work) so the focus is always on you.
When meeting with Christopher you can work on anything you need, but most clients tend to want to work on:
- Audition Monologues
- Audition Sides
- Scenes
- Accent and Character Work
- Finding Audition Pieces
- Pre-Rehearsal or Pre-Production Work for Upcoming Plays/Films/Episodes
Working together is all about finding the best way to exhibit you and what you have to offer, diving into the truth of the character and the scene, and creating the best work we can.
Sessions tend to be $100 per hour but are negotiable depending on the duration and type of work.
Christopher is a protege of the great acting teacher Larry Moss (Leonardo DiCaprio, Sutton Foster, Hillary Swank) and has degrees from Kenyon College and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. He currently splits his time between New York and Los Angeles.
"I don't think I've ever worked with someone who has such an instinct for a scene. At the same time he will work with you rather than dictate. You trust him because of his knowledge and generosity; you know that however he guides you it is for your sake, not his." - Sara R.
"Let me say this simply: whenever I need a coach Chris is the first and only person I call" - Fazad F.
"Chris offers thoughtful direction that empowers an actor to make more incisive choices all rooted in the text. He carefully explores the material with the actor to create a deeper and more nuanced performance. He has a proven dedication to thought provoking theater that engages both audience and ensemble. Chris has an ease with a variety of genres and a special affinity for contemporary works. He greets material with sincere curiosity and is a welcome collaborator." - Jon G.
